About us

About Us

Sopot School of Polish for Foreigners was founded in 1990. So we have already more than 30 years of tradition. Our School is the first private, independent institution that has a permit to operate from the Minister of Education. We are open throughout the year. With between 10 and 30 students we are large enough to be a varied and dynamic community, but small enough for every student to be given individual attention. We offer small classes, from beginner to advanced levels in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our aim is to provide high quality courses in Polish as a foreign language and to encourage interest in Polish language and culture.

School location

Our school is based in Sopot, which is over 150 years old and is a well known, beautiful seaside health resort and spa. Its natural landscape and white sand beaches appeal to Sopot’s many guests from all over the world. There are many original XIX century buildings preserved in the city, some of them built at the initiative of Jean-Georges Haffner, Napoleon’s personal physician. Sopot hosts international sailing races, tennis competitions, and horse races. The annual international song festival is held in the open-air Opera Leśna. In Sopot is the longest in the Europe wooden pier and the Monte Cassino Promenade. The promenade is full of pubs and discos filled with people who love to have fun and night life.

It was possible for me to speak most of the time and I had the opportunity to realize some methods such as dictation or translating texts orally that are normally not used any more in language teaching.

Kasia was a very good teacher. There was always a structure in the lesson. I liked to ask a lot of questions. Then she not only answered the question, even she taught more background information.
