About Us – Sopot School of Polish

The School

Sopot School of Polish for Foreigners was founded in 1990. So we have already more than 30 years of tradition. Our School is the first private, independent institution that has a permit to operate from the Minister of Education.

With between 10 and 30 students we are large enough to be a varied and dynamic community, but small enough for every student to be given individual attention. We offer small classes, from beginner to advanced levels in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our aim is to provide high quality courses in Polish as a foreign language and to encourage interest in Polish language and culture. We have extensive experience in teaching foreigners and a fully qualified staff of teachers – lecturers of Polish as a foreign language. We offer courses at all levels of language proficiency from A1 to C2. Depending on the needs of the student, we also organize individual courses and thematic cycles, such as business, literature, history, politics, art, etc.

We teach not only at our headquarters in Sopot, but also in Gdansk, Gdynia and nearby towns.

Cooperation

We cooperate with many organizations around the world, such as the German travel agency Perelingua in Berlin, Studiosus in Munich, travel agencies in Turkey, China and India. We are also in regular contact with Polish and foreign embassies and consulates at home and around the world. Among our students have been American Peace Corps volunteers, members of the English royal family, numerous diplomats, heads of many well-known companies, government and military officials.

Location

The location of our school in the Sopot area further enhances the attractiveness of the study, as the city has been known for more than 150 years as a great resort. The healthy microclimate of Sopot, resulting from its coastal location, attracts many people yearly who are thirsty for relaxation. The old, perfectly preserved architecture of the buildings, charming streets and corners and the longest wooden pier in Europe create a unique atmosphere of the city. In summer Sopot hosts numerous horse races and Sopot Film Festival takes place, in autumn in the Sopot Forest Opera you can follow a live international song festival.

Sopot’s location between Gdansk and Gdynia, two famous shipbuilding and port centers, makes it even more attractive for tourists!
